The Olin Guest House has the privacy of a hotel in a historic home! Its pine tree lined property, large lawn, and patio offers a private relaxing getaway, and with several bedrooms, family & friends can easily join you! The home features cable television through out, 5 bedrooms which are completely private with separate lock and key, large café room that seats 24 comfortably, kitchen, formal dining room and parlor room, lounge with a hidden prohibition bar, many seating areas, plus a large front porch and balcony overlooking the river! Swimming, golf, and other activities are located directly behind the estate at the Meade Activity Center. For dinner, there is an eat-in kitchen but if you want to continue your river view, you can take a scenic walk downtown to the Historic Meade County Jailhouse. The jailhouse has been uniquely converted into a restaurant, Jailhouse Pizza.
This beautiful 1880 colonial style mansion is located only 15 miles South of Corydon, Indiana and 40 miles South of Louisville in Historic Brandenburg, Kentucky and features a panoramic view of the Ohio River. With it's gorgeous grounds, spacious rooms, and elegant period furnishings, The Olin Guest House is the perfect place for parties! It can support up to 50 people inside and up to 100 utilizing the outside. Over the years The Olin Guest House has hosted events of all types including bridal & baby showers, intimate weddings, family reunions, holiday celebrations, anniversary and birthday parties, company picnics, and more!

History of The Olin Guest House
The Olin Guest House was originally built in 1880 by James W. Lewis, a very prominent lawyer in Meade County and the founder of the Meade County Deposit Bank, of which he was president and principal stock holder. He and his wife, Martha E (Farleigh) Lewis, had eight children and the house was built to accommodate their large family.
The grand home was considered to be the stateliest house in the area and one of its many amenities included having a one room school house for the Lewis children. After Lewis' death in 1919, his daughter, Mary Lewis, and her husband William Dugan Ashcraft, also a local attorney, purchased the house from the Lewis heirs. They lived there with their nephew until 1950 when she sold it to The Olin Chemical Company.
Olin used the home as a residence for their plant managers. During that time the house was occupied by A. L. Willie, Resident Manager and later J. G. Woods, General Manager who did some renovations.
After the Woods family moved, the Hillcrest Country Club was organized in 1957 and began to use the main dwelling of the home as a club house while it still accommodated overnight Olin guests. This continued until 1978 when Olin separated the residence from the country club and it became known as The Olin Guest House.
The Olin Guest House was purchased by its current owner in 1997 who named it The Brandenburg Inn, Olin Guest House and now offers it to the public for events and getaways. It still boasts many of its original building details and is affectionately loved by the community as a piece of local history.
